The process of loading 177 fuel assemblies into the core of unit 1 of the Zhangzhou nuclear power plant in China's Fujian province has begun ahead of its start-up. The unit is the first of four Hualong One (HPR1000) reactors under construction at the site.

The CA20 module - measuring 20.6 metres in length, 14.2 metres in width and with a height of 21 metres - has been hoisted into place at the second unit of the Lianjiang nuclear power plant in China's Guangdong province.
