EDF said its UK nuclear fleet performance was "very good" in 2025, meeting 12% of total UK electricity consumption. The company said it plans to operate its last two Advanced Gas-cooled Reactors until at least 2030 and is seeking a 20-year licence extension for the Sizewell B pressurised water reactor.

Hinkley Point B plant declared free of fuel
The UK's Office for Nuclear Regulation has granted the Hinkley Point B nuclear power plant in Somerset Fuel Free Verification status, confirming all nuclear fuel has been removed on time and on budget and allowing the plant to move into its decommissioning phase.
