IRSN extends its cooperation
France's Institute for Radiological Protection and Nuclear Safety (IRSN) has agreed to extend its collaboration with Belgium's Nuclear Research Centre (SCK-CEN) while entering a cooperation agreement with Spanish engineering firm Tecnatom.

Amec and ANDR join forces for Romanian waste
Consultancy and engineering company Amec is to work with Romanian nuclear and radioactive waste agency ANDR (Agenţia Nucleară şi pentru Deşeuri Radioactive) to develop a national strategy for nuclear decommissioning and long-term waste storage under a newly signed memorandum of understanding (MoU).

CGN to invest in new Cernavoda units
China General Nuclear (CGN) has been designated as the "selected investor" for the development of units 3 and 4 at Romania's Cernavoda nuclear power plant. A letter of intent has been signed to complete the two units.

USA-Vietnam nuclear accord takes effect
A USA-Vietnam agreement on civil nuclear energy cooperation has entered into force. The agreement establishes the terms for commercial nuclear trade, research and technology exchanges between the two countries as provided under Section 123 of the Atomic Energy Act.

South Africa unveils cooperation plans

Tepco, Sellafield agree to share experience
A formal cooperation agreement has been signed between Tokyo Electric Power Company (Tepco) and the UK's Sellafield Ltd. It follows the earlier signing of an initial cooperation statement between the two companies.
