Westinghouse Electric Company has signed a contract with Dominion Energy to design, engineer and manufacture six replacement steam generators for Surry nuclear power station in Virginia in the USA.

A primary challenge facing the companies commercialising fusion technology is building a supply chain, according to the Fusion Industry Association. Fusion developers are set to spend potentially trillions of dollars in a mature fusion industry, it says, but suppliers are reluctant to invest without committed orders.
