ERA updates Ranger rehabilitation costs
The estimated rehabilitation costs for the Ranger Project Area in Australia's Northern Territory have increased from AUD512 million (USD370 million) to AUD808 million, based on preliminary findings from a feasibility study.

ANSTO to act on medicine production safety culture

MCA calls for end to uranium discrimination

ERA publishes closure plan for Ranger
Energy Resources of Australia (ERA) has released its closure plan for the Ranger uranium mine in Australia's Northern Territory. Under the existing authority from traditional land owners, mining and processing activities at Ranger must cease in 2021.

Lift nuclear ban, MCA tells Australian government
The Minerals Council of Australia has repeated its call for the Australian government to lift a ban on the development of nuclear power. Australia must reform its taxation, industrial relations, environmental and energy policies to shield the nation from future economic downturn and deliver stronger economic growth, the council said in its pre-Budget submission to the federal government.

Australian SMR feasible by 2030
A small modular reactor could be in operation in Australia by 2030, according to Sydney-based SMR Nuclear Technology Pty Ltd. The country would be imprudent not to factor SMRs into its energy security plan, the company has told the body established by the Council of Australian Governments to implement energy security reforms.
