X-energy, Cavendish team up for UK HTGR deployment
British nuclear services company Cavendish Nuclear has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with X-energy of the USA to act as its deployment partner for High Temperature Gas-Cooled Reactors in the UK. The UK plans to build an HTGR as the centrepiece of its Advanced Modular Reactor Research, Development & Demonstration Programme.

France and India aim to progress EPR project in coming months
The French company EDF last year submitted to Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd its binding techno-commercial offer to build six EPRs at Jaitapur in Maharashtra state and the project was among the bilateral issues backed during talks between President Emmanuel Macron and President Narendra Modi.

Bechtel cooperates with Polish firms for new build
Bechtel has signed Memorandums of Understanding with 12 Polish companies for the potential development of two new nuclear power plants in Poland. The US engineering firm said more agreements will follow in the future.

Westinghouse expands cooperation in Czech Republic
Westinghouse Electric Company has signed Memorandums of Understanding with ten companies in the Czech Republic covering cooperation on the potential deployment of an AP1000 plant for the Dukovany unit 5 project as well as other potential AP1000 projects in Central Europe.

Samsung, Seaborg partnership on floating nuclear reactors
The Memorandum of Understanding is to manufacture and sell turnkey power plants combining Samsung Heavy Industry’s ship-building expertise and the Danish company’s Compact Molten Salt Reactor. It also covers development of hydrogen production plants and ammonia plants.

Holtec and Hyundai expand cooperation into decommissioning
Holtec International of the USA and Hyundai Engineering & Construction of South Korea have agreed to cooperate in the area of nuclear plant decommissioning. Last year, the two companies finalised an agreement for the turnkey supply of Holtec's SMR-160 small modular reactor plant worldwide.

UK-based innovative reactor developer Newcleo has signed a framework agreement with ENEA - the Italian national agency for new technologies, energy and sustainable economic development - to cooperate on the development of small, lead-cooled fast reactors.

Kärnfull teams up with GEH for SMR deployment
A small modular reactor project development company - the first in Scandinavia - has been launched in Sweden. Kärnfull Next - a fully-owned subsidiary of Kärnfull Future AB - will collaborate with GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy on the deployment of the BWRX-300 in Sweden.
