Tepco sees progress in understanding of Fukushima accident
Tokyo Electric Power Company (Tepco) today released the latest findings of an ongoing investigation into how the accident at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant unfolded. Tepco said the findings support measures being taken at the Kashiwazaki Kariwa plant, which it hopes to restart.

Robot enters Fukushima Daiichi unit 1 containment vessel

A shape-changing robot began surveying conditions within the primary containment vessel of the damaged unit 1 of the Fukushima Daiichi plant on 10 April. However, the robot stopped working before completing its mission.

Fukushima cesium on US coast 'well below' levels of concern, say scientists
Scientists at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution have for the first time detected the presence of small amounts of radioactivity from the 2011 Fukushima-Daiichi nuclear power plant accident in a seawater sample from the shoreline of North America.

Muon data confirms fuel melt at Fukushima Daiichi 1
Initial results from using a muon detection system at the damaged Fukushima Daiichi unit 1 in Japan appear to confirm that most of the fuel has melted and dropped from its original position within the core, Tokyo Electric Power Company announced.
