Paladin announces Namibian and Australian sales
Paladin Energy has announced plans to sell 24% of the Langer Heinrich uranium mine in Namibia and up to 75% stake of its Manyingee project in Western Australia. The transactions stand to raise over $200 million.

Wiluna traditional owners sign agreement

Australian Royal Commission delivers final report
South Australia's Royal Commission into the Nuclear Fuel Cycle has delivered its final report, recommending that the government should pursue the establishment of storage and disposal facilities for multi-national used nuclear fuel and intermediate-level waste. ERA completes strategic review

Australia agrees to supply uranium to Ukraine
Julie Bishop, the Australian foreign minister, yesterday signed an agreement with Ukrainian energy and coal industry minister Volodymyr Demchyshyn that clears the way for Australia to export uranium to Ukraine.

Ansto prepares to demonstrate Synroc technology
Ahead of the start of construction later this year of a full-scale Synroc waste treatment plant, the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organization (Ansto) is preparing to upscale the technology from a research level to an industrial scale in a pilot plant.

Paladin Energy reduces loss, confirms CEO appointment
Paladin Energy has reported a net loss after tax of $22.9 million for the six months to 31 December 2015, which is a 66% improvement on its loss of $67.2 million a year earlier. As well as announcing its half-year and quarterly results yesterday, the Perth-based, African-focused uranium miner said it had appointed Alexander Molyneux as CEO following his six-month stint as interim head.

Waste disposal offers opportunity to South Australia

Ranger leach tank investigation closed
The government of Australia's Northern Territory has decided not to prosecute Energy Resources of Australia over the December 2013 failure of a leach tank at the Ranger uranium mine and has closed its investigation into the incident.
