Ukraine's state-owned nuclear energy utility Energoatom and Cameco Corporation have agreed commercial terms for a major supply contract that would see Cameco meeting Ukraine's needs for natural uranium for nuclear fuel until 2035.

Major equipment for India's Kudankulam 5 is complete at the factory of the Russian supplier, Atommash. The reactor pressure vessel was assembled in a trial and the pressuriser passed crucial tests.

Energy Fuels Inc and Peninsula Energy Limited subsidiary Strata Energy Inc have been awarded contracts to supply natural uranium concentrates to establish a federal reserve of domestically produced material. The reserve is intended to be a backup source of supply for US nuclear power plants in the event of a significant market disruption.

UK government funding of GBP13 million (USD15.9 million) will be used to help "prepare the necessary design and enabling work to begin new conversion capabilities for the world’s utilities from 2028".

TerraPower has said it expects operation of the Natrium demonstration reactor to be delayed by at least two years because there will not be sufficient commercial capacity to manufacture high-assay low-enriched uranium fuel in time to meet the proposed 2028 in-service date.

The first batch of fresh nuclear fuel from the Ulba-FA LLP joint partnership has been delivered to a Chinese nuclear power plant, Kazatomprom has announced. The shipment of AFA 3G ТМ fuel assemblies - equivalent to one reload (a little over 30 tonnes of low-enriched uranium) have been accepted by the end customer, China General Nuclear Power Corporation.
